Seeing an old friend so happy with her growing family was wonderful! We went to high school together so it has been super getting to reconnect and capture this exciting stage for their family. A winter maternity at Goodwater could not have landed on a better day in February!! Planning in advance can be tricky to know how the timing will work out and we knew we had limited options for this photo shoot. It was the first day I knew I’d be available once we’d be arriving home from BC and there was a baby coming soon. Ends up we had the warmest day in February!! It was amazing and perfect timing. The wind picked up as we spent time together but it was a few degrees above freezing and sunny.
There were a few wild winter storms in January. The snow drifts were massive this winter! Since having many winters in recent years with barely any snow here, it was a crazy difference!! The wind whipped up huge walls of snow and this yard was very filled in. The yard was where this beautiful mama was raised. She was glowing and looked amazing so far along in her pregnancy! Our timing worked out well that it unexpectedly worked with her favorite guy’s work schedule to join as well. As it was just before Valentine’s Day I took along my pink chair to capture a few photos of this cutie that had just turned 3. She is full of energy and adorable! And now a big sister as a darling baby boy arrived. I really enjoyed getting to be part of documenting these memories for their family!!

This winter maternity at Goodwater was mostly photographed on medium format film that was processed and scanned by Canadian Film Lab.
